5 reasons why stay at home moms should consider Direct Sales
Are you considering direct sales as a way to contribute to your household income but uncertain about how it works or what is in it for you? I have been in the industry for close to 5 years now and roughly 2 years in, I was able to start making a six figure income all online through Direct Sales. It didn’t happen over night, and it didn’t fall into my lap but through hard work and determination, it was made possible. You may be in a position like I was, where you know there are income opportunities out there but you are uncertain where to begin or if Direct Sales is that vehicle for you. And that is what I want to share with you today!
What is a Direct Selling business?
Direct Selling is where an individual sells items for compensation in a non-retail environment. This can take place from the individuals home, online, or through any form of the non traditional retail store. Which in turn, eliminates the need of the middleman involved in product distribution.
Products sold through Direct Sales companies can only be purchased through a represenative for that particular company and cannot be found by walking into a retail store. This is what makes the products from the Direct Sales company unique.
Direct Sales gives you flexibility
Many mommas specifically love direct sales because of the flexibility it provides them with. This gives them the opportunity to be their own boss and to work it in the cracks of their day. Many days I work while I am at the park with my son, or during nap time (when he was younger… Those days are long and gone now! Ha) , or during the spare time I set aside. I personally like to work for the first 2-3 hours of my day and then spend the rest of the day running errands, cleaning or just doing the mom thang.
You can also build your direct sales business in so many different forms. Many utilize the internet and social media because it is readily at their fingertips (this is my personal favorite way and the way I’ve been able to build a six figure income.) Or some people love hosting events or parties. But the beauty about it is, is that you have the option to do all of the above.
You can start Direct Sales with low startup costs
Starting your own Direct Sales business can be very inexpensive. It is much less expensive than beginning a brick and mortar or than it would be to open a franchise.
In most cases, you will purchase a package of products that you will begin using for yourself, which is vital because ultimately, you want to be a product of the product. These packages (depending on how much product you purchase.) will range you anywhere from $100-$1,000 in most cases.
Then if you find a good compensation plan, you can either earn your product for free each month or some have their compensation plans setup to where you can run a completely free business by achieving a small quota in sales.
Mine allows me to earn free product credit monthly so I get my products for free and by maitaining a small sales quota, I am able to run a completely free business with no overhead. And it really doesn’t get much better than that. To be able to start your own business at a minimal cost, then run a completely free business, then to be able to receive free monthly product credit and earn a six figure income, all from the comfort of my home or on the go… It is pretty much a no brainer.
You can sell something you are passionate about
Another reason I love this business model is because you can find a direct sales company that promotes almost anything. From tupperware, hair care, health and wellness, essential oils, makeup, non toxic products, candles and waxes, leggings, you name it and I’m sure you can find a Direct Sales company with it.
It gives you a sense of purpose
For me, I needed a community again. As a new mom who was used to working and being busy, I needed to find a way where I felt I could connect with other like-minded individuals. I needed to have adult conversations again and to feel like I was also taking part in contributing to our household income. And I wanted to build a legacy for my family and this industry has given me the sense of purpose I needed.
Direct Sales has great rewards and incentives
Depending on the compensation and rewards plan, most offer incentive trips or car bonuses. I know that we’ve been extrememly blessed over our Direct Selling Career and been able to take advantage of both. My husband and I have earned two luxury Lexus cars by earning the auto bonuses, and we’ve been able to earn multiple trips for free which has allowed us to travel to:
- Cabo, Mexico
- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- Las Vegas, Nevada
- San Francisco, California
And then we also earned one to New Orleans, Lousiana and Toronto, Canada which we unfortunately passed up. And we have been able to go on some personally planned family vacations and team conventions, which we otherwise would not have been able to afford prior to embarking into the Direct Selling industry.
